Although Butler works in a family business, he’s no stranger to individual success. He attended the University of Southern California on a baseball scholarship and was recognized on the PAC-10 All-Academic Team. After college, he worked for both Countrywide and IndyMac, getting a valuable lesson on how not to do business. He came away from those failed enterprises determined to "put consumers first, while upholding myself to the highest standards," he says. Butler has helped propel the family business by integrating Web sites, social media, and personal technology. "Those who persevere during times of crisis," he says, "can build a long-lasting career."
