Brittany Barsky Allison, 29, is a neighborhood guru in East Bethesda, Md., where she lives with her husband and two dogs. She created the “East Bethesda Quarterly Newsletter” to share recent sales, community stories, and development news. “The suggestions I give my clients are no different than what I’d say to my mom and dad or best friend,” she says. Her commitment to giving back is built into her business. Allison’s brokerage partners with A Wider Circle, a local nonprofit focused on ending poverty, and she donates a bed set to AWC after every closing—more than 30 beds in 2015 alone. When she gets a listing, Allison invites neighbors for a sneak peek using special open house door hangers. For an extra sweet touch, Allison sponsors an ice cream truck at the annual town picnic—branded with the slogan “Brittany has the scoop on East Bethesda.”
