One-woman show Growing up, Christina Valkanoff was introduced to real estate as she helped clean and paint the investment properties her parents owned. She obtained her license while still in college and started working with a top-producing team. Upon graduating from North Carolina State University, Valkanoff started her own team.
Business, community, profession Valkanoff doubled her sales from 2008 to 2009 but says she's now focused on growing her team and continuing her community involvement. She and her husband own three Dairy Queen franchises and partner with DQ to raise money for the local children's hospital through the Children's Miracle Network. Valkanoff is also involved in the profession; she was one of 12 agents selected for her local association's leadership academy.
The road less traveled Valkanoff attributes her success to not following the herd. From the start, she has focused on the quality of the listings she takes, believing that a quality product would beget quality clients, thereby building her brand.
