Devin Ratoosh, 29, has a lot of frank conversations with his clients about navigating the astronomical home prices and rental rates of the Bay Area. Many nearby municipalities have put rent and eviction control measures in place to counter the rising costs that pose distinct challenges when those properties go on the market. Ratoosh has become skilled at working with owners to sell tenant-occupied properties. “While the seller is the principal, I try to give the same standard of care to the tenants. It’s their home, too,” he says. “Having their home listed for sale can be traumatic. Strangers walking through your home and the uncertainty of a new landlord can be unsettling. I pride myself on handling the situation with compassion.” Those relationships accrue to his benefit as well. Ratoosh has helped some of those tenants when they were ready to buy.
