In addition to helping clients with real estate in the nation’s capital, Harrison Beacher, 29, is an inspiration to young men of color in the community. Beacher wants his own life to serve as an example of how to build a successful business from the ground up. He’s been selling—services, CDs, even water—since he was 10 and formed his first LLC at 19. “I want other young men of color to consider real estate as a career and to see by my success that it can be done,” he says. Beacher believes relationship-building and personal attention are vital aspects of the profession since “real estate will always need a human touch to be done at the highest level.” As for the future: Bring it on, he says. “I am not afraid of how the market is changing, or technology, or discount brokerages,” he says.
