To Jeffrey Leatherwood, 29, being conscientious isn’t just a goal. It’s a way of life: “I don’t go to bed at night until every e-mail is answered and every voicemail is returned,” says Leatherwood, who jumped into sales after five years in leasing. He tells those who want to be successful in real estate to set standards for themselves and make those standards known publicly. “People will love it,” he says. Working without a team, he has implemented a nearly paperless transaction system. “I’m efficient and organized, and I make the process fun for everyone from the title clerks to lenders, buyers, sellers, and even the FedEx guy,” he says.
