Jessica Houghton’s voice is usually easy to pick out in a crowd. The Northern Ireland native’s accent has mellowed some, but no one would mistake the former nurse for a local in her Atlanta market, where she’s been working since 2012. No longer worried that her accent would make it hard for people to understand her, Houghton, 28, now appreciates that it makes her memorable. As an immigrant who moved to the U.S. to be with her American husband, she has flourished as a relocation expert. Houghton knows what it’s like to move far away from friends and family, and she likes helping people build connections in their new home. “My style is just to be completely open with people,” Houghton says.
