While waiting to hear on an application for a master’s program in social work, Sadler obtained her real estate license because of a strong pull she felt toward real estate. "It was only after getting my license that I realized real estate really is an advocacy job," she says. "My primary function is to look out for someone who is not an expert at buying or selling a home." Sadler’s also an enthusiastic booster for the city of Durham, creating videos about the town for her Web site and helping to raise funds for a local shelter. Her advice: Spend less time focused on marketing and more on improving your knowledge and client care.
