As the spouse of a veteran, Katlyn Morrow, 29, understands life in the military. “I’ll never be able to sacrifice as much as they do for this country,” she says. But she incorporates her gratitude into her business, as most of her sphere is connected to the military. She sends out 25 handwritten notes a week, which takes her six to eight hours. “It catches people’s attention. And it’s less than a dollar for a card and postage,” Morrow adds. When she was new in the business, she sent a card to several of her former teachers. Four years later, she heard from an acquaintance of one of them, who became a buyer client. Even with the challenges of COVID-19, a new baby at home, and two hurricanes that affected her region, Morrow’s business had a strong 2020. While hurricane-ravaged homes covered in tarps are still a common sight in her area, when a new listing hits the market, it’s often under contract in six hours.
