Shooting for Success
Rachele Maczuk, SFR, swears by the bow and arrow as an effective business tool. “It’s easy for me to make connections by saying, ‘Let’s go target shooting sometime,’ ” she says. Maczuk, 28, grew up working on her family’s farm and has been a deer hunter since high school. She uses the sport to network in her rural town of New Haven, Mo. (pop: 2,089). Last year she was elected president of her local board, a position Maczuk relishes for the chance to inspire her peers and have an impact on the industry. One day she hopes to be a leader at the state level. Until then, Maczuk plans to expand her business—and continue hunting. “In this business, we’re always connected to clients and each other,” she says. “It’s nice to take time to watch the sunrise.”
