Scott Myers, 29, grew up on a farm and helped his father run a small logging operation before moving to Alaska in 2011 to be near his brother. He worked for a land developer but in 2012 was recruited to manage his current office. Myers trimmed the number of sales associates from 34 to 23. Some retired; others moved on. His smaller, motivated group of agents helped take his office sales volume from $63 million in 2012 to $109 million the following year, becoming the No. 7 office in the Alaska MLS system. Myers aims to lead by example. “I don’t ask our agents to do anything I wouldn’t do myself,” he says. Besides managing and meeting with his agents, he’s busy serving on the Anchorage Board of REALTORS® and as a director for the state association, advocating for land development rights.
