Musically gifted Tara Moore started singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at sporting events when she was 8. For years she was the official national anthem performer for the Houston Astros and other teams. Today, Moore, 29, is singing the praises of real estate, which she got into after a corporate career in hotel sales. Her practical approach: Spend money wisely. She built her own website after being shocked by the bids from vendors. She’s never “spent a dime” on traditional marketing, including paying for leads. Instead, the mother of two depends on in-person networking and handwritten notes to enhance her connections. “The greatest compliments that I receive from clients are that I treated them like family—with honesty, care, and respect,” she says, “and that I taught them about real estate.”
