Trent Zimmer, 29, says he’s not really a sales guy but a people pleaser. His degree in resort and hospitality management from Florida Gulf Coast University and early years working in hotels were foundational to his success. “People ask me if I feel like I wasted my college education, and I say absolutely not,” Zimmer says. The communications skills developed in a customer service–oriented environment taught him what his clients want in their real estate experience. This client-centric approach has guided his approach to mentoring the 70 agents on his team. “Part of what I love about being a REALTOR® is being an advocate for my industry,” says Zimmer, who regards his time on the Strategic Planning Committee, Professional Development Committee, and YPN Committee at the St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS® as invaluable to his professional growth.
