July 19, 2011

Real estate professionals in the Chicagoland area that serve the west, south, and northwest surburbs will now become one big group. The Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and the REALTOR® Association of NorthWest Chicagoland have approved a merger of the two associations, which will create the fourth-largest REALTOR® association in the country.

The merged association, which will continue to operate under the Mainstreet name, will boast 16,000 members and serve 185 communities in the Chicagoland area, including Cook County, DuPage County, and Lake County.

“We will be able to enhance service to our members, while putting our organization in an extremely solid position moving forward,” Mainstreet President Christine Chase said.

The two associations will officially begin operating as one on Oct. 1.
