Berkshire Hathaway Reaches 1,000th Office Milestone

September 24, 2014

Real estate brokerage Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices marked its one-year anniversary of its brand launch this week by naming its 1,000th office.

California Realty, based in Torrance, Calif., with three offices of 160 agents, will mark the brand’s 1,000th office with its Torrance/Skypark office, which serves as the brokerage’s headquarters. Starting in October, the brokerage will operate as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

“The brand gained significant traction in one short year with stellar brokerages across the country,” says Bruce Short, broker-owner of California Properties, about the decision to join the Berkshire Hathaway network.

Overall, the franchise now boasts more than 33,300 agents operating in 47 states.

“Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ momentum keeps building,” Earl Lee, CEO of HSF Affiliates, the family of real estate brokerage franchise networks that includes Berkshire Hathaway, said in a statement. “This further demonstrates the power of the brand, and is a tribute to the quality of affiliates and agents who have brought the brand to life across America.”

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices launched a year ago when one of its largest affiliates, San Diego–based California Properties, joined its brand with 63 offices and more than 2,500 agents. Numerous other brokerages shortly followed suit. The real estate franchise is part of billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway brand.

The franchise plans to begin international expansion in 2015.
