NAR Accelerator Program Eyes Next Big Tech for Commercial Sector

Second Century Ventures announced this week that it is launching a real estate technology accelerator aimed at the commercial market. Second Century Ventures has begun accepting applications for the 2019 REach Commercial class through March 31.

Venture capital is flowing into real estate technology at an exponential rate, driving innovation in every corner of the industry,” says Mark Birschbach, NAR’s senior vice president of strategic business, innovation and technology. REach Commercial enables us to invest in the entrepreneurs and companies that are revolutionizing the commercial real estate landscape while positioning REALTORS® to be the first to embrace these changing technologies.”

Those companies accepted into the program over a nine-month span will be granted mentorship from commercial and housing industry professionals; access to NAR’s Insight Panel, a group of more than 50,000 real estate professionals who provide feedback on user experience and the product; exclusive networking opportunities within the industry; and exposure through NAR’s marketing and communication channels. 

Since 2013, the REach Accelerator program has mentored 48 companies, which have collectively raised more than $350 million in financing during or after being accepted into the program.

Tech companies can apply for the 2019 REach Commercial class at Companies selected for the program will be announced at the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 13–18 in Washington, D.C.
