T360 Releases Brokerage, Franchise Rankings: See Who Tops the List

T3 Sixty, a real estate consulting and research firm, released its annual Swanepoel Mega 1000 report that ranks brokerages and franchises based on annual sales volume, transaction sides, and agent count. The report reflects the nation’s top 1,000 brokerages, 20 franchisors, and 20 holding companies.

NRT LLC once again topped the brokerage leadership rankings based on sales volume. The brokerage had $17.6 billion in 2018 annual sales, which was nearly 30 percent more than the next brokerage on the list, Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary HomeServices of America ($135.9 billion).

Based on transaction count, however, HomeServices of America emerged as the leader. HomeServices of America had 346,629 transaction sides in 2018, topping NRT’s 336,806 sides.

T3 Sixty flagged Compass as one company to watch on this year’s Mega 1000 list. The seven-year-old real estate company jumped from number nine on the 2018 Mega 1000 list to number three this year. The largest jumps among the country’s 20 largest brokerages were eXp Realty (which rose from number 23 on the list in 2018 to number nine in 2019 based on sales volume and number four based on transactions), and Compass, which saw its sales volume rise 225 percent to $45.5 billion due to some recent acquisitions.

Among franchises, Keller Williams Realty nearly doubled its annual sales volume lead over RE/MAX, according to this year’s Mega 1000 list. However, when Canada sales volume is included, RE/MAX remains North America’s largest real estate brand, the report notes.
