President Donald Trump is scheduled to address thousands of real estate professionals on Friday at the 2019 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Washington, D.C.—an event that aims to bring private property rights and policies to the forefront of lawmakers and the real estate industry.

“The National Association of REALTORS® is honored to welcome President Donald J. Trump to our annual Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Washington,” John Smaby, NAR’s president, said in a statement. “As thousands of REALTORS® descend on Capitol Hill to highlight our support of the housing industry, private property rights and policies that ensure the American Dream is accessible to everyone in this country, we know there are countless opportunities for collaboration between NAR and the Trump administration. While we hear how we can work together to secure these priorities and promote real estate in America, REALTORS® also look forward to showing the President ‘Who We R’ and what we care about as REALTORS®.”

More than 9,000 REALTORS® are expected to attend this year’s Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 13-18, in the nation’s capital. REALTORS® will gather to advocate for policies to protect property ownership and advance the commercial and residential real estate markets through a series of forums, educational sessions, and Capitol Hill visits that will get them face-to-face with members of Congress. Mark Calabria, the newly appointed Federal Housing Finance Agency director, is also among the guests who will be in attendance this week. He will be addressing REALTORS® on May 14 at a regulatory issues forum.
