Former C21 CEO Takes Newly Created Role at RE/MAX
September 4, 2019
Nick Bailey, most recently the former president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate, has rejoined previous employer RE/MAX in a newly created position. Bailey will be the franchise's chief customer officer, charged with overseeing business growth, brokerage support, franchise sales, professional development, industry relations, and international expansion.
“If anyone can help our brokers/owners cut through the noise of a changing industry, it’s Nick Bailey,” says Adam Contos, RE/MAX CEO. He “will act as a passionate advocate for the entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our global network. This hire aligns with our values and fortifies our customer-obsessed culture. We’ve landed one of the best minds in the industry to help deliver even more to our brokers and agents.”
Bailey has more than 23 years of real estate industry experience, including more than a decade at RE/MAX World Headquarters earlier in his career, where he led the growth and development of several regional operations throughout the country. Bailey has also formerly served as a vice president at Trulia/Zillow, where he led the expansion of products and services and was credited with broadening brand awareness across the industry.
In August 2017, Bailey was named as the CEO of Century 21, a role he stepped down from in March. At the time, Bailey said his decision to leave Century 21 was to spend time with his family and move to Colorado. Bailey says that when he resigned from that role, he did not initially have intentions of returning to RE/MAX, which is based in Colorado.
“The industry is cluttered with distractions that can quickly knock agents and brokers off their game,” Bailey says. “Throughout my career, I’ve been an agent, a broker, a franchiser, and a leader of a tech company focused on the consumer—I’ve been on all sides of the transaction. My goal is to use my unique skill set to help our network of highly productive entrepreneurs grow their businesses, find success, and in turn, deliver a consistent and elevated experience to home buyers and sellers long into the future.”
