NAR Warns Unsolicited Calls May Be Fraudulent
April 24, 2020
Members report receiving unsolicited phone calls that claim to be from the National Association of REALTORS®. NAR posted a fraud alert to warn members that these phone calls are not from the association and are a scam. The phone calls reportedly are asking for a monetary payment or for personal information in order to receive news about NAR insurance.
“These calls do not originate from NAR,” the association warned in a fraud alert to members on Thursday. “The association does not make unsolicited calls to enroll you in an insurance program, ask you to pay for something, or to otherwise solicit your personal information.”
The phone calls are coming from Washington, D.C., area codes, including these phone numbers: 202-205-9284 and 202-319-9312.
To check on the legitimacy of communication from NAR, call 800-874-6500 or contact NAR via live chat or email.
