Bigfoot Sighting: Creature Appears to Lurk in Listing Photos
May 27, 2020
Daniel Oster, a real estate pro with Coldwell Banker Realty, wants to make consumers browsing pictures of his luxury listing in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains do a double-take. If they do, they’ve probably spotted Bigfoot.
Bigfoot appears in the property photos for the $999,000 home, showing off the deck-wrapped contemporary home, sneaking into the remodeled kitchen, lounging in one of the five bedrooms, and checking out the home’s workshop surrounded by redwood trees.
Oster, CRS, is sporting the furry Bigfoot costume in the images. “No one thinks Bigfoot is real, but there is a kitschy Bigfoot Discovery Museum in town,” Oster told Oregonlive.com.
On realtor.com®, if you flip through pictures of the home at 5469 Hillside Drive in Felton, Calif., the interior and exterior photos at first appear similar to other homes for sale. However, by picture 23 of 94, Bigfoot makes an appearance on the back deck holding a ukulele. Oster says he’s been sharing the pictures on social media too.
Oster got the idea after reading about a real estate professional who donned an inflatable T-Rex costume to pose for listing pictures a few years ago.
He was searching for an idea to garner attention for his listing. So far, he says, his Bigfoot idea has worked, with page views and media inquiries soaring. He told Oregonlive.com that his goal was to get people to laugh, and hopefully pause to look at pictures of the house, too.
