The series will spotlight how real estate professionals can be part of fighting the blight in their communities.

NAR’s Stabilizing and Revitalizing Neighborhoods in the COVID-19 Era webinars that will spotlight partnerships between REALTORS® and local government officials in seeking to prevent property vacancy and abandonment. The webinar series began Aug. 11 and will run through Sept. 8.

The first webinar, “Market Fundamentals to Address Property Vacancy,” will highlight systems that affect vacancy and abandonment as well as early intervention strategies that can be used as communities navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As the nation grapples with the economic fallout of this pandemic alongside a once-in-a-generation opportunity to address inequity and injustice in our society, REALTORS® have been instrumental in helping our neighborhoods move forward while emphasizing that a better future begins with stable communities and equal access to housing for all Americans,” says NAR President Vince Malta.

NAR recently introduced a Community Rebuilding Grant program to help real estate professionals lead rehabilitation initiatives in their communities in response to recent racial injustice demonstrations. Read more: Beloved Park Was Defaced, Then Revived With NAR Grant
