5 Favorites With David Gillis

Get to know Long & Foster’s newest managing broker in Northern Virginia as he answers Broker to Broker’s 5 Favorites Q&A.

April 29, 2015

David Gillis is a motorcycle riding, outdoor loving, Northern Virginia native, and he’s now the new managing broker of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Falls Church, Va., office. He brings a decade of real estate sales experience to the job, but it was his guidance as sales manager of two Long & Foster Real Estate offices that caught the eyes of senior vice presidents Karen Kidwell and Lonnie Plaster.

“It takes a highly knowledgeable and skilled leader to support real estate agents in today’s competitive environment,” Kidwell says. “We are confident that with David at the helm of our Falls Church office, we’ll continue to achieve success for our agents and their clients.”

Gillis is no stranger to involvement. He’s an active member of the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS®, where he served on multiple committees. And in 2010, Gillis also ran for Congress (and lost) as a Green Party candidate in Virginia's 11th District.

Broker to Broker asked Gillis for his 5 Favorites. Here’s what he had to say:

1. Favorite part of my morning routine: Going to the gym
2. Favorite accomplishment: Achieving the rank of Eagle at the age of 14 with the Boy Scouts of America
3. Favorite website: yahoo.com
4. Favorite book: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
5. Favorite way to unwind: Sit around the fire pit with friends and my dog Smokey
