'Partners in Housing' Awards

July 1, 1996

Five nonprofit groups were given awards at the NAR Midyear Business Meetings by the Partners in Housing program for their efforts in alleviating low- and moderate-income housing problems. The program sponsored by NAR and the Fannie Mae Foundation, encourages local and state associations to work with community groups to solve housing problems.

The Fannie Mae Foundation provided $8,000 grants to each of the nonprofit organization winners nominated by their partners---local boards and state associations of REALTORS®. The recipients were selected by NAR's Housing Needs Committee and the Fannie Mae Foundation.

The winners were Fairbanks Campaign for Home Ownership, by Greater Fairbanks (Alaska) Board; Community Housing Resource Center, by Clark County Association, Vancouver, Wash.; Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio Inc., by San Antonio Board; REALTOR® Community Housing Foundation, by Lexington-Bluegrass (Ky.) Association; and New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, by the New Hampshire Association.
