Fielding a New Team
From the Editor: As the inimitable Yogi Berra once said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
August 1, 2007
Even the Yankees need a rebuilding year once in a while. Like the Yankees, REALTOR® Magazine has had a lot of winning seasons. In fact, this year alone, the magazine and Web site captured more than 20 awards. We were recognized for feature writing, news writing, Web content, cover and feature design, and more. A complete list of our awards appears at our Web site.
As you know, however, when you have a winning team, others will woo your players. Several of our valued staff — Managing Editor Christina Hoffmann Spira and Senior Editors Chuck Paustian and Mariwyn Evans — have moved on to great, new opportunities. We’ll miss them. I’m happy to say Mariwyn is staying within the NAR family, bringing her tremendous talents to the REALTOR® Commercial Alliance. Those of you who’ve come to know Mariwyn’s work on the magazine will recognize that this is great news for the commercial practitioners among you.
And more great news: We’ve recently welcomed two new staff members, Wendy Cole and John Frank, to the magazine. They bring combined experience of more than 50 years working for top consumer and business titles, including Time and Business Week. They join a talented staff of editors and designers who remain committed to bringing you the best service journalism we can offer to help you succeed in your career.
As the inimitable Yogi Berra once said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.” Well, we’re doing just that. Our newly energized team will be taking the magazine in great new directions. You’ll see what I mean when our redesign launches in January 2008. Even with a new look and a new editorial team, we remain true to our mission to be the business tool for real estate professionals.
