Time for Learning: Designation Awareness Month

NAR has a new certification for short sales and foreclosures and an updated e-PRO® curriculum.

November 1, 2009

Continuing education may well be your key to staying ahead of the competition and improving your bottom line. Real estate practitioners with at least one professional designation earn about $27,000 more annually than those with none, according to 2009 NAR data. November is REALTOR® Designation Awareness Month, making this the perfect time to start working toward a GRI or CRS® or choose from a host of other skill-building programs sponsored by NAR and its nine affiliated institutes, societies, and councils. Visit REALTOR.org/education for more information.

Certification programs are another way to beef up your knowledge. NAR’s new Short Sales and Foreclosure Certification Resource program (SFR) offers participants the training necessary to successfully handle a range of distressed property transactions, including short sales, foreclosures, and REO transactions. As part of NAR’s "Right Tools, Right Now" initiative, the $175 application fee for the SFR course will be waived through the end of the year. For details, visit www.realtorsfr.org.

And becoming more tech savvy just got more affordable. NAR’s e-PRO® Certification has been updated with the latest real estate–focused technology to help you thrive in the cutting-edge world of online real estate. In honor of Designation Awareness Month, members pay $334, a $25 savings off the regular price. As a bonus you’ll also receive two extra months to complete the course and free access to NAR’s new Web 2.0 and Social Media course. Find out more at www.eProNAR.com.
