Realtors Property Resource(TM) On the Way
The Realtors Property Resource(TM) will hold information on more than 140 million properties throughout the country.
April 1, 2010
The Realtors Property Resource™ began beta testing in select markets around the country in March, with full market launches expected to begin in the second quarter.
This massive property data project, which will contain information on more than 140 million properties across the country, has been the buzz of the industry since it was unveiled in November.
An industry relations group has been crisscrossing the country presenting demonstrations of the RPR™ front end and discussing plans for MLS participation. In addition, the team behind RPR™, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, launched a blog (http://blog.narrpr.com) in January containing a 28-minute demo video, a lengthy FAQ section, and a newsletter.
According to Jeff Young, senior vice president of operations, there are still tremendous opportunities for input from NAR stakeholders, including members.
“The response to the beta testing has been very positive,” Young says. “The RPR™ is a very fluid project and likely to gain even more support as the potential is seen by more and more members.”
