Contact relationship management systems have even been rebranding themselves as “social CRMs” by adding more social media connection capabilities to pros’ databases of contacts. Also, a growing number of relationship-building technology tools are helping to create systems that do everything from pulling analytics on customers’ online behaviors to categorizing clients better for more effective follow-ups.

“People don’t want to feel like they are one of a thousand leads,” says Chris Smith, co-founder of real estate tech and marketing firm Curaytor. “They want to feel like they’re the only lead right now. You can incorporate layers of technology to make the conversations more meaningful.”
